perform the duties required by the Hong-Kong Mer-
chant Shipping Consolidation Ordinance, No. 38 of
1891.
Salary $8000 to $4200 rising by $300 triennially (0.0.D. No. 138 of 1900.)
Exchange Compensation i.é. an allowance to take up the salry to the exchange value of three shillings the dollar (not pensionable).
The salary is liable to a deduction of four per cent as a contribution to the Widows and Orphans Pension Fund of the Colony.
